AXIS ASG1530

Enclosed-Gantry Fibre Laser Built for Australian Standards

The AXIS ASG1530 takes the modern enclosed-gantry concept and rebuilds it for Australian workshops and Australian Standards – not just to tick a box on a spec sheet.

With a 1550 × 3100 mm cutting area and your choice of 3 kW or 6 kW fibre laser power, it’s ideal for general fabrication, jobbing work, ducting, enclosures, brackets and plate components.

  • Cutting area: 1550 × 3100 mm
  • Power options: 3 kW or 6 kW
  • Control stack: Full BOCI – CYPCUT – BOCHU ecosystem
  • Laser source: MAXPHOTONICS G5, standard – designed from the ground up to safely cut highly reflective materials such as aluminium and brass, with no extra cost to upgrade.

Enclosed Gantry. Open Table. Built for Real Safety

The ASG1530 uses an enclosed gantry over an open table:

  • Fully guarded cutting gantry over the work zone keeps the Class 4 beam, sparks and spatter securely contained.
  • Open-top bed so you can still load sheets and remnants easily by crane or forklift.
  • As it’s a fully enclosed gantry, the cutting process itself is not directly visible – cutting status is monitored via the control system and software, not by looking into the cutting area.

Designed Around Australian Standards – Not Just Stickers

The AXIS ASG1530 is engineered to help you align with recognised laser safety and safety-of-machinery principles, as well as typical Australian electrical expectations – instead of leaving you to “make it compliant later”.

Australian Standards–Style Checklist

(Engineering measures – not just labels and stickers)

Laser safety & guarding

  • Enclosed cutting gantry over the work zone to contain the Class 4 beam path.
  • Designed so that, when installed with appropriate guarding, extraction and procedures, it can form part of a controlled laser area rather than an open Class 4 hazard.

Interlocks & emergency stopping

  • Safety interlocks on access doors to the cutting area – open a guarded door and laser/motion are inhibited.
  • Monitored emergency-stop circuits using a safety-oriented architecture.

Electrical & control integrity

  • 24 VDC control circuits separated from mains power.
  • Lockable main isolator positioned for safe lockout/tagout.
  • Industrial-grade switchgear and clearly arranged wiring to suit Australian expectations.

Operator environment

  • Connection points for compliant fume extraction.
  • Logical cable routing and guarding to minimise trip hazards.
  • Clear English-language manuals and guidance to assist with WHS risk management.

MAXPHOTONICS G5 – Reflective Materials Included

Every AXIS ASG1530 ships standard with a MAXPHOTONICS G5 fibre laser source:

  • Designed to process carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper and other common sheet metals.
  • Engineered specifically to safely cut highly reflective materials like aluminium and brass.
  • No “high-reflective surcharge” – you don’t pay extra to handle these materials.

MAXPHOTONICS have an authorised Australian repair and service agent, giving additional reassurance on long-term support.

Intelligent Cutting Heads: BLT310 & BLT421S

To match the two power levels, the ASG1530 uses BOCI BLT-series intelligent cutting heads:

BLT310 – matched to 3 kW

  • Smart, compact cutting head designed for medium and low power fibre lasers.
  • Multiple intelligent sensors providing real-time monitoring and early warning for issues like pressure and temperature.
  • Integrated water cooling keeps optics stable over long shifts.

Perfect for the 3 kW ASG1530 where you want reliable, efficient cutting without overspending on head capacity.

BLT421S – built for 6 kW

  • Higher-spec head from the BLT4 series, well suited to medium–high power cutting.
  • Fast focusing, allowing quick change-over between thin and thicker materials.
  • Extensive water-cooled zones across the optical path for stable operation at higher powers.
  • Collision protection features to help protect the head and minimise downtime if something goes wrong.

Together, the BLT310 and BLT421S give you cutting heads properly matched to the power of the machine.

Industry-Leading CypCut Control – Standard on Every ASG1530

The AXIS ASG1530 runs on the CypCut + FSCUT control platform – an industry-standard fibre laser cutting systemwith a huge installed base worldwide and a long track record in serious production environments.

That means:

  • operators who’ve used modern fibre lasers before will feel at home, and
  • you get a proven, stable control system with strong long-term support and plenty of available training resources.

Under the hood, the machine can be supplied with:

  • FSCUT2000E – ideal for the 3 kW ASG1530, handling motion, laser and gas control in a single, integrated EtherCAT system.
  • FSCUT4000E – the natural partner for the 6 kW ASG1530, offering higher dynamic performance and tighter motion control for thicker plate and higher speeds.

Because both run the same CypCut software, your operators enjoy essentially identical features and workflow on both power levels.

Smart Cutting Features as Standard

CypCut brings a big toolkit of cutting features to the ASG1530, including:

  • Integrated CAD/CAM + control
Import DXF and other common file types, clean them up, nest parts and send them to the machine from one interface.
  • Automatic geometry cleanup
Remove double lines, join broken segments, detect inside/outside contours and fix tiny gaps before you cut.
  • Advanced nesting
Powerful nesting tools to squeeze the maximum parts out of every sheet and reduce scrap.
  • Micro-joint and tab control
Multiple micro-joint strategies (including “smooth” / “low-mark” styles) to keep parts in the sheet without leaving big nibs to grind off.
  • Dynamic corner & contour control
Automatic slow-down and power adjustment on sharp corners and small holes to improve edge quality and reduce burring.
  • High-speed fly cutting
Fly-cut modes for thin sheet, small holes and repetitive patterns to really take advantage of the 6 kW version on light gauge work.
  • Piercing strategies
Multi-stage piercing options for thicker material to minimise spatter, protect optics and improve reliability.
  • Process libraries
Store and recall cutting parameters for different materials and thicknesses so operators get consistent results day in, day out.
  • Remote diagnostics-ready
Combined with the built-in remote access on the ASG1530, the CypCut/FSCUT stack allows us to help with tuning, troubleshooting and training without always needing a site visit.

You’re not getting “cheap and cheerful” software – you’re getting a mature, industry-leading platform built specifically for fibre laser cutting.

Cutting Performance at a Glance – 3 kW vs 6 kW

*Indicative maximum thicknesses for quality cutting with nitrogen or compressed air assist gas.
(Actual performance depends on material quality, gas supply and cut requirements.)
